Today was such a hectic day…
I had to get up at 7 and go to school and rent out a locker in the art building. While waiting I made a new friend which is cool. I went to my first class that is Art History and I was kind of disappointed to find out that I know like half of the people in that class and some I do not like. I wanted to meet new people and see new faces this semester. I’m not too stoked about the topic and that is the Northern Renaissance, but the professor I have is totally a bombshell AND funny, so that will probably make it worth it for me to wake up in the morning and go to class. I’d rather be studying post-modern art from Latin America like I did last semester or something more current than things from the 13th century.
I’m also taking a Watercolor Painting class and I’m excited about that one since I will learn another way of creating things and I hope to do some cool landscapes and maybe cityscapes. And I can watercolor when I travel or watercolor after my photography. Between my two classes I met up with some friends and showed them my new apartment and installed Windows Ultimate on my new monstrosity of a PC that I just bought.
I cooked breakfast this morning and ate some sweets for lunch and took a cat nap on the couch before work. Well I managed to press the snooze button a couple of times and was late for work. But it’s ok because I don’t really have a boss that supervises me and it literally takes me 5 minutes to walk to my job.
My job could be described as awesome for college. The pay is not amazing but it pays the bills. The above picture is one of the locations where I work. It’s in the Print Making building so i’ll be abel to run into people I know and see some cool artwork in the making. Anyway, my job consists of me sitting at the desk that you see from 7 to 1130 and be sure everything is running smoothly. I need to do hourly walkthroughs that require 2 minutes of my attention and at the end of my shift I just lock down 4 doors and turn in my keys. I can take breaks for food and I can walk outside and smoke a cigarette if I have any, which is a problem lately. The coolest thing about it is that I can do whatever I want with my time. I can use it to surf on the interwebs, I can use it to read, I can do my homework or I can draw. It’s an amazing job and I consider myself lucky to have it. And they gave me a raise because of the recession :D
Tomorrow will be a good day because it’s friday in a college town and I just found out my awesome cool friend Jennifer will be a TA in one of my classes. We used to be classmates and now she is helping teach a class that I’m in..
P.S. I’ll post stuff about and from my apartment at a later date..
